Former New Mexico State standout led all of junior college basketball in scoring last season

WEB Teddy Allen has been released by the Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), the team announced today. Allen, a 6-6 guard, played for New Mexico State, Nebraska, and Western Nebraska CC before joining the Stingers.

Allen showed his impressive scoring ability during his time at New Mexico State, exploding for 37 points in the Aggies' win over Northern Arizona in 2021. That performance tied him for the most points scored by a New Mexico State player in program history.

Allen averaged 31.4 points per game last season at Western Nebraska CC, leading all of junior college basketball in scoring. He was also named the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Player of the Year.

No reason was given for Allen's release from the Stingers. The team is currently 3-4 on the season and will face the Scarborough Shooting Stars on Saturday.
